Granny shifting is like... crappy shifting. Double-clutching is whenever ur downshifting, u hit the clutch, put the car in neutral, release the clutch, hit the clutch again, and put it in the lower gear. I believe this helps the servos align quicker? Or at least this is what I was taught. Anyone...? :smoka:

Yea you do what he said, just add a blip on the throtte when it isn't in gear, then slide it into a lower gear to match up the rpm in the lower gear, it makes life easier in the syncros in the tranny. There is really no need to do it now days anyway, modern trannies dont need you to. All I do when i down shift is put in the clutch, slip into lower gear, blip the throttle and then let our the clutch quickly, smooth as butter baby.

the part about double clutching is pretty much BS in the movie. Its fricken drag racing, where your looking to get the car to the next gear as fast as possible, and no one has quick enough feet to do double clutching. Double clutching isnt needed at all nowadays because of syncros. although when downshifting, rev matching is definately needed, least you want to fry your clutch, while giving the passengers a nice jolty ride.
