getting to know dan

ok, now you've seen my car - i'd like to officially release my plans.

as you may or may not know i am currently a professional student, while i am at school i have no garage and very few tools. The first portion of my list will be completed upon the summer of my graduation from santa clara.

i'll rebuild the engine and turn it into a 327 stroker with afr 165 heads - 1.7:1 roller rockers, elbrock performer manifold, 70mm air meter, banshee ram air. I'll get her repainted pearl white with all black trim peices replaced or some how repainted. Everything that is chrome will be powder coated gun metal grey - everything from the rims to the badges to the exaust pipes to the key holes to my licence plate frame to the little silver things on the roof. I think i'd like the 5.4 badges too, just to be different. I figure i'll also get the interior professionally detailed - also by then i figure i'll have all the broken peices replaced. while the rims are off to the painter i'll swap in some disk brakes. also i'll get another top motor and that all working again and tint the windows.

this winter i'll have the exhaust finished up, custom long tubes stuck to what ever h-pipe i can find with cats and american thunder three chambers. I'll have this stuff done for me since i can't weld. I'm open to sudjestions on the american thunders - i need something that quiet and won't draw a lot of attention. I've got it in mind to keep the stock diameter, what do you all think of that?

so far i've got a new wc t5 with custom gearing, 3.55 rear end w/ trac loc, an aluminum three core radiator, koni suspension, a 160 amp alternator, a/c delete and one hell of a sound system.
clarion dxz935, two kenwood amps - 600w and 350w, six kappa speakers - 5x7 6.5s 3.5s, basslink subwoofer. I wanted to wait on the stereo and build up the motor sooner, but i just had to listen to my tunes.

what do you fellas think? I won't beable to do any work next summer because i'll be digging up bones somewhere, do you think i'm a little too excited for my 2006 release?

Your ignorance and humor, is what has made me laugh thoughout your posts! Don't fret though, you have come a long way!

About your exhaust. Why do you want to keep the stock size of 2 1/4"?
With the mods you have listed, you might want to upgrade to 2 1/2", and it will still be street legal as long as you have cats. I would also think twice about the Flowmasters. I really don't care for them, plus everyone and their brother has them. Think about Dynomax Superturbo's, or even Magnaflow mufflers. Both very subdued at idle, but at WOT both scream very nicely without being overkill.

cool man, that all sounds good - i was afraid to move up to 2.5s out of fear of a loss of torque.

Don't worry about that loss of torque thing. That has been so overplayed by too many people. Tons of people will scream about long tube headers on a N/A 302 also. 21/2" with long tubes is and awesome exhuast system for a 302.
