Angry ELF can go to hell and die....

http://www.foxnews.com/story/0,2933,95447,00.html
These people are LUNATICS!!! These people are so damn stupid and ignorant it makes me sick. I hope the next fire they cause goes wrong and they die. Causing pointless destruction b/c they don't like SUV's is stupid. Whats wrong with people today?? Oh how I hate this group. These cowards need to get a grip on reality and realize life isn't fair and we can't all have things the way we want them.
WEST COVINA, Calif. — Fires at an auto dealership charred a warehouse and destroyed several SUVs on Friday, while other vehicles were vandalized with scrawled messages including "fat, lazy Americans" and the initials of a militant environmental group.

"With all the evidence that you're already seeing on the vehicle, its highly likely it's an arson fire," said Rick Genovese, fire marshal for West Covina (search).

The blaze broke out about 5 a.m. at a Hummer and Chevrolet auto dealership in the Los Angeles suburb.

Flames engulfed several vehicles, including Hummer H2s, but there were no reports of injuries. A separate blaze about 100 yards away caved in a warehouse roof and sent plumes of smoke into the air.

The word "ELF" was written on at least one vehicle in a possible reference to the group Earth Liberation Front (search).

The underground group has claimed responsibility for a slew of arson attacks against commercial entities that members say threaten or damage the environment.

It is suspected in a $50 million arson Aug. 1 fire that destroyed a five-story complex under construction in San Diego's fast-growing northern edge.

In an e-mail sent Monday to reporters, ELF's news office said it appeared that San Diego-area fire was targeting "rampant urban development," but said it had not been in contact with the persons responsible. No one was injured in the fire.

In Friday's blaze, other slogans written in large letters on the sides and hoods of the vehicles included "I (heart) Pollution," "American Wastefullness" and "Fat, Lazy, Americans."

Genovese said whoever set the fire may have been trying to protest vehicles that pollute the air because of their poor fuel economy. But he said their approach was misguided.

"There's a lot more pollutants from the fire than the vehicles would pollute during their lifetime," he said. "There's hundreds of tons of pollutants that were spilled off."

Like other terrorists – they’re a bunch of cowards who can’t face what they don’t like and won’t accept that they can’t get their way.

As I understand it, anybody can claim to be a "member" of ELF - apparently they have a website where they post things "members" have done. All you have to do is email them and claim that you have done something apparently, and they'll post it up on the site. Needless to say alot of vandals claim to be a part of this group - certainly gives them a very very bad image. This isn't the first time I've read about "ELF" burning SUVs either.

At least now, these devices of fat American laziness ( ) can now be recycled into something useful, like paperclips or razor blades. I like to shave with fragments of old automobiles.

I do wish however that these morons would consider for one moment, that their foolish act against SUVs (a fad which will eventually do itself in, just like tailfins did) could in fact harm people, consider bystanders, firemen etc. What morons.

As for the last opinion of the article - ENTIRELY FALSE. Unless these vehicles live an unusually short life.

While I'm starting to dispise the fact that every housewife wants to drive around in a 3 ton, 6L SUV, I agree with you that these people running around torching cars and trucks need to be put away and have their heads examined. Vandalism, especially in this magnitude, is criminal, and borders on terrorism.

As for my personal anti-SUV views: I'm not coming down on these vehicles due to environmental reason, instead it's because their weight as well as braking/handling performance poses a safety risk for other motorists and pedesterians. I'm not totally against these vehicles, I just don't think everyone needs to drive around a 6000 pound menace just because it's trendy. Especially if the SUV is only navigated between the supermarket, the shopping mall and the suburban home, never taking advantage of it's sport/utility design. But alas, civil liberties should come first.
