Anyone run a TFS street heat on a near stock motor?
I'm looking into an aftermarket intake for my car. I will be getting better heads and a cam later on, so I want an intake that will also work well with my future combo. This is what I have been thinking:
TFS street heat AFR 165 aluminum heads Crane 4442 or 4443 cam Does this sound like a good combo? I definitally want to get the intake manifold out of the way first. Do you think this combo will work well with my converter?

I'm going after those heads too, I hear nothing but awesome things about then. why are you concerned with your converter?

Only thing I can see is you might lose a little bit of low end torque. But that intake is great in the higher rpms, and a nice piece for other mods. It's all about what you want out of your car, plan for the future, that way your are not buying parts that will be obsolete later on. Since you already have a converter you might not notice the loss in the low end. Them AFR's are a great choice, if I could do it again I would buy those instead of my Edelbrocks. As for a cam I would get the Crane Powermax 2031, will work well with your converter and such. It's rated 2000-5500 rpms.

Yes I like that cam as well but I hear its not emissions legal? I am also looking into the TFS stage 1.

All those parts are fine. Only suggestion is work your stock head intake ports a lil before putting the TFS intake. They dont match up well at all and will mess up your airflow.

Errrr I can't decide. In about 4 months I'll be loaded with extra cash due to tax income return. Should I just wait and get everything all at once? I read that AFR recommends the Edlebrock performer manifold to match their heads. Maybe I should just go with a trickflow set up meaning tfs twisted wedge heads, tfs stage 1 cam, and tfs street heat intake? That will be cheaper in a long run anyway, and should net the same amount of hp overall give or take some here and there. You guys think a 2800 stall will be good enough for that set up?
