Thumbs up Really need these parts!

Well, I picked myself up a new project. She's a nice little 90 CRX DX that needs some TLC.

The current motor is a mini-me swap, which broke a rod, and I picked her up for $500. The car has GS-R leather seats, ZEX springs, front end, cam, JE pistons and rods, and a Tenzo R exhaust. She's getting a B20B motor swap (prolly a CR-Vtec later on...), a new suspension, and the other necessary stuff to make her run right, like a full exhaust, good clutch, good intake, some brembo cross-drilled rotors, good pads, etc. etc. etc. I would like to have her driveable by the end of November at the latest. So, here's the laundry list of stuff I need. I will be needing a ton of stuff, so you guys can clean out yer garages! I need:

Good Si wiring harness
B-series cable tranny
Shift linkage, or how to make one/modify the current one
OBD-Zero B-series ECU
OBD-Zero B-series Distributor
Carbon or Fiberglass hood
Info from anyone who's done this swap before
Input on what kind of mounts to use
Random thoughts

I'll post up some pics of the car tomorrow, it was a little too dark when I got the car into my driveway. I've already got the head and pistons spoken for, but I have an Si clutch and trans that are supposedly in good shape (I've never driven the car, y'know...), along with some miscellaneous stuff.

I must say, I've wanted a CRX for a long time and never found a good enough excuse to buy one! I'm pumped to get going on the project, and build up a new ride.

Kris is gone for a while. Hes a volunteer fire fighter and hes been out on call for a couple months now. So, you might have some trouble getting a hold of him. Hope he comes back soon.

redracercivic is running a built d16a6

i thought kris was just running a straight b20 ... i wasnt aware that he did a crvtec on it.

The red 4 door guys username is Redline_civic91 ... its a 91 civic dx, he runs 13's and has the crvtec setup on a fairly built motor.

Kris is running a straight B20, and it hauls some serious A$$. Another friend of ours has an LSVtec w/ an ITR head, CTR cams and pistons, and some nice electronics, and Kris has beaten him several times. He doesn't have his vtec hooked up yet, but still... I'm impressed by the B20, and I'm all about what others haven't done!

well as far as mounts IMO don tgo with the place racing ones as they tend to sit lower making your headers closer to the ground. i used hasport mounts but there kinda pricey. also i do have an si wiring harness in a parts car out back....i could give you what ever you needed as far as the si wiring. $45 shipped is my asking price.....unless your willing to part with the teg ecu then i wouldnt mind negotiating. as far as my thoughts on the swap....you let me know when your done as im thinking about a b20 into my car.

I would be happy to part with my Teg ECU, since I'm selling this hatchback as soon as the CRX is done, and I have a spare Si ECU that I can use. I need the wiring harness, and the steering wheel, if you have it. I could also use a rear wiper. What do you think about a straight across swap? I bought the ECU for $70.

Have you heard anything about HCP mounts? I've heard they're pretty good. I didn't know that about the Place racing mounts, thanks for the input. Thanks!

thank u melt for clearing that up havnt been on here lately, so peeps forget bout me. and for the guy that called me a gut....... oh well cant find that smilie i want to use right now so fuck it. dude good choice of motor b20 will pull as soon as you start giving it gas. you will love it, i will always refer this motor for a swap to everybody, and with a vtec head it just makes it even funner to drive. im currently using the place racing mounts, they work great, very very little vibration, hardly any and its sits your motor a litttle lower but lets you keep your stock hood, no clearance problems, no vibrations, holds motor steady very good mounts. hasport is good too but i have no experience with them so i wont say nothing. we modified my stock linkage to make it work, no problems so far. computer wise if your goin non vtec you need the pr4 (ls)comp, but if down the line you want vtec go with obd1(p28) over pr3(b16) cause it is much easier to program, air/fuel mixture is better and from what i hear is one of the better computers to use all around. well if you got any questions hit me up if i cant help you i will get answers from my mechanic, he is very good and well known, just won battle of the imports in bakersfield 2 weeks ago dude is smart. good luck.

I am starting to waffle on doing the B20. Did it cost you an arm and a leg? I can't locate a cable trans for less than $400, or an ECU at all. I started thinking that a B16 that comes complete might be easier, but I don't want to do the same old thing as everyone else. That's why I was hoping to find some people with some of this stuff... PLEASE let me know if you have a good source...

Also, are the B-series mounts the same for all of the motors, or do I need to get B20 mounts, or what?

Thanks!

no b-series mounts are all the same. will work with any b series motor. how much u pay depends on who you know, or how does it. if u go to someone that is real cheap u also might get what you pay for. it is a little more expensive but well worth it. if u get a b16 your just another civic with b16, which lacks a lot of torque and doesn't really feel that strong to me. cable trannies especially b16's are getting very hard to find and more expensive. my friend is selling his, he just went turbo and bought an ls tranny for the longer gears, it has no grinds good tranny. i dont know how much he wants for it though. but if you are really seriouse i can help u out with parts through our performance shop here in cali. pm me

b series mounts into the 4g chassis are designed basically the same. the hasport mounts claim to be the tru sir mounting position. ive had these mounts on my old crx....the place racing mounts my buddy had on his crx actually made the motor sit about half an inch lower than my hasport mounts.....anyway you go either companys mounts will bolt the b into your 4 chassis....
