Question Clearcoat TS30 silverleaf?

Does silverleaf need to be clearcoated?

As far as I know, you must clearcoat every metallic or pearl color to achieve the gloss finish, further there are automovie lacquers that eventhough they are flat ones, they also are bi-component and need clearcoat, but for the ones that we use isnt necessary, only with the metallics and the pearls as I said.

Yeah it really needs it. I didn't clearcoat mine and it came up really crap so now i've got to repaint it.

....on the other hand I think that the colors look less gloss and loose it's shine after the clearcoat...This happened to both the 928 and the R32...

However I still clearcoat them....

IMO, TS-30 silverleaf doesnt need clear coat..

if you clear coat it, it will lose its shine and become like TS-17 gloss aluminium..

juz my 2cents..

it does need a clearcoat since your finger will show on the paint and can't be removed..

take a look at the Mercedes CLK GTR (silver) on my web site and the Ferrari Enzo.. both are Silver leaf, enzo with clear.
