just got a 240sx need some first mod help...Please

OK, i found the perfect sileighty conversion on sunday, white 1991 240sx se with super hicas and very light front end damage(s13 swap ready) the interior is very clean and the rest of the car is good. i bought it for $1500 after some haggleing(sp), anyway im going to be doing some mods shortly and need some pointers for quality parts for these cars that fit well and arent too expensive, heres what im thinking so far,

I already have a MOMO jet carbon fibre wheel, am going to buy adapter for this car
Thinking momo all around

Looking at buying:

Momo cobra carbon shifter knob ( will it screw right on??)
MOMo leather shifter boot (same question, will it fit easily?)
MOMO Tuning Pedal set (same question)
MOMO carbon door sill plates
Injen full intake system(blue) <-- is it worth the cash??
Apexi N1 cat back exhaust or HKS Hiper *** need feedback on what these exhausts sound like*** dont want raspy rice, have dual cam ka24de
dont want header because i plan on turboing it in the somewhat near future(with any luck)

also, i want to change the tranny fluid (5 speed), any reccomended fluids like slick50 slick shift, or royal purple?? i have no idea, but want to change it anyway.

congrats on your new ride i would say yea intakes are great the pedels are nice anything that helps driver imput seats also. but the Apexi N1 sounds great and Ka-T is a good choise but you said you have the S13 swap you might be able to get a front clip deal with a motor then you'll have a SR20DET

yeah, the sr20 is definately an option, but the ka i got is perfectly strong, and as im sure you know, these motors were practically built for turbocharging, im going to try out the torque of the ka and not think too much about rpm's, the ka goes to 7000rpm with no problems, what do sr20's redline at??

One more quick question, does anyone elses clutch fan stay on most all of the time?? it sounds like a mack truck at 3 grand. it was hot today, but my clutch fan was kickin it almost all the time i was drivin it, when i drove back home in the evening, when it was cooler, i noticed it disengaged somewhat.

sr20 redline at 7500, but you can go to 7800. That is in an NA car like my se-r or nx2000. I am doing the det in my s14 soon. yeeeehaaa

I dunno, there have been a few artilces in SCC aout the KA block breaking at 7 psi. Just make sure you have fuel management.

i have been under the impression from day one that the ka was not made for the turbo. it never came stock with a turbo and nissan never thought about doing it. that doesn't mean you can't make it fast, but there have been reports of a lot of things going wrong with them.

on the other hand the sr was made for the turbo, so you won't have any trouble boosting it more than the ka (and not having it result in damage).

but who knows i could be wrong.

My damn fan clutch stopped working all together at about 50,000 miles. So I ripped it out and put a Spal electric fan in. Definatly worth the $150.

the apexi sounds the best... hks is a lil ricey for me. apexi is nice tone, pretty damn loud stock. but they do have silencers

injen... its worth the cash if you don't want to turbo it in the future. if you get the header, get the intake.

thanks for all the feedback guys, i woke up early this morning and changed the oil, fuel filter, airfilter, and swapped the battery from my Z($150 interstate battery)

im definately going to get an electric fan soon, is it better to go with dual smaller fans, or one large one? it would seem you could mount one large one inside the shroud area infront of the engine fairly easily. also, who makes some good electric fans for 100-200 bucks, i think Spal was mentioned...

spal or flex-a-lite.

either one, as long as it cools your engine. duals are better but more expensive.

why would u get a intake if ur s13 swap is "soon"?

MY FAN NEVER TURNS OFF, IS THIS A PROBLEM?? ITS ON RIGHT WHEN I TURN IT ON, AND IT NEVER TURNS OFF

its not a mechanical problem, its better on than off, it will keep the engine cooler, but being on all the time seems akward...

it just uses up ampage from the car, so very very little power is lost with it on. something like 1hp.... don't worry about it..

yea it definately helps cool the engine though, if your elec fan comes on too late that could be really detrimental..
