Need some real quick help please!

I'll try to make it real quick. Im in the process of diagnosing some problems with my 1996 regal 3800 series II. I took off what I believe to have been the T.P.S. and I.A.C. or whatever that little electrical sensor thing is that is right above the TPS. It's the part that has that spring loaded pintle or piston like thing coming out of it. Probably a stupid idea, but I sprayed them both off with maf cleaner and put them back on, but now when I start the car the rpm's instantly go to about 4000 or 4500 rpm and doesnt come down. Which one of these could be causing that, and is there a certain way that you have to put these back on, or did I ruin them with the maf spray. This happened to me before but I can't remember how I resolved it. I thought it had something to do with how I put the tps back on but I can't remember.

Thanks

Above the TPS is the IAC. It would cause the high idle. Did you use a new o-ring seal? The MAF cleaner should not hurt either sensor. Also, lube the spring loaded pintle with clean motor oil or silicone spray. Did you get the IAC seat where the IAC mounts on the throttle body? Use or carb or throttle body spray cleaner. The orifice could be clogged with carbon.

One way to reset those values is to turn the ignition to on for 5 seconds then turn off for 3 seconds then try again.

Thanks BNaylor, you where right on the money!! I would imagine that it is pretty common for people to come here for help, and then never report back after they get there problem solved. So I just thought I would pop in and say thanks.
