Question 22 to 302 Engine swap?

Anybody out there ever done a 302 small block engine swap? I am seriously thinking about swapping out my underpowered 22r in my 85' Yota for an overpowered V-8! Just wondering how hard this project is and if there are going to be any problems along the way? What kind of MPG's can i expect also? I plan on using all the neccesary parts from NWOR required for the swap. Any insights would be helpful!

Thumbs up

A 302 is going to be a pain to get the exhaust around the frame and would require a good sized body lift 3"

A Turbo Supra Motor is the best

I done a 302 (blew it out to a 347 strocker) much power and fun to drive in the dirt, mud and sand. Try Northwest Offroad for the motor mounts, advanced adapers for the headers (they also have at 4x4 adapter that plugs into a ford C4 transmission). You will need a 4" susp lift and a 3" body lift won't hurt either - I did both. I also modified the front end with a new radiator and electric fans. The only over all problem I still have and have been trying to figure out is the generator wiring - I'm not sure I have it connected properly. Large white to Generator, Small White to Starter Relay, Red ??? and Yellow ??? If you have the answer please let me know. The Red and yellow should go to either the feild or Stator on the Ford Generator??? If you or anyone can answer the Red/Yell wiring problems for me I would apprieciated it. The Toyota Manuals do not show what they are hooked to internally within the generator.
