Talking recommended mods for a 81 5.0, i wanna go fast, HELP!!!

Carb mods?

Exhaust mods? I want the loudest most meanest sounding exhaust, what would you guys recommend for that, its gotta be street legal.
Fire out the exhaust would be sick, i assume spark plugs in the exhaust would do the trick.

What cams do you recommend for a 1981 mustang 5.0, i think a nice rough idle would be nice.

- were do i get them
- How much power will i gain
- required parts for installation

Stroking the engine
- reliability
- Power gain
- Cost to have it done

Any other mods i should do?

I am very new at this, my dad isnt but he said since its my car i have to research everything and he'll help me out.

I so far plan for 3.73 gears, everyone says they are a must. I am also gonna update the front to the newer style and a saleen wing, oh and a 2inch cowl hood, tinted windows, gold paint. Oh yeh weld rims with some nice tires.

- Please help, thanks if you do!

want instant and cheap horsepower? take out the catalyst converter. You'll have the enviromental protection people will be running after you, but dont worry, they wont be able to catch you

I owned and still do an 83 GT. Doing this turned the car from kind of a weak gas econo crunch V-8 into a real nice street performer. Mac 13/4 Full-length headers, Mac off-road H-pipe, Mac Cat-back exhuast. Weiand Stealth intake, Edelbrock carb. Now you dont have to use Mac, Wieand, or Edelbrock but any brand but the same parts will make your car perform amazing.

That's why you're asking if you should get a 79-85 because they're more reliable because they're carbed in another post that you made today? Fuck off troll.

Hey easy now. There is a lot of young blood in the hobby, and most of them are either uneducated or misinformed. That's why we're here, to help guide into the correct direction.

My grandpa found out i wanted one and he gave me a shitty one from his lot. its a 81 with what i beleive to be around a 84 engine because it is a 5.0 but carbed. Its ugly as hell but it was free. Im gonna put the money i had saved to buy one into performance.

pull that oversized, overweighted motor out, drop in an svo motor and buy yourself a bumper sticker that says "Yah you just got smoked by a 4-bannger!"
