hey what's better tamiya compound or tamiya model wax.
what works better.

trying to give my model a great shine. which one works on clear coat

The wax is used AFTER rubbing/polishing compound so you need both...

Actually, Tamiya Compound is too take out fine... scratches out of the paint job, and give it a smoother finish, and Tamiya Wax just gives it a shine and covers the clear coat for more.... protection from dust and things...
