ok, i've been thinkin about DSM engines alot, and just wondering if this is possible.

1. Can You Twin Turbo charge a 4g63, with smaller turbos??
2. Can You put a VR-4 engine in a DSM?? (dumb but does anyone have pics of it)
3. Can You put a Skyline GTR34 engine in a DSM?? (hey, it fits the VR-4, it should fit the Sky R34)
and last..
4. Can YOU think of anything else of wut a DSM can do thats NEARLY impossible?

How about if you spell english like the rest of us do , first.

2nd , why would you wanna put an RB26DETT out of a Skyline into an Eclipse. For one , it won't fit , too long. This in an I-6 motor we are talking about , not a V6. And for the opposite , you COULD maybe swap in the V6 from the 3000GT VR4 into the Skyline , but why would you wanna downgrade the Skyline like that. These are 2 different manufacturers we are talking about , Nissan and Mitsubishi. Typical swaps involve using another , larger , engine from the same company being put into a smaller car than it was meant for , such as the RB25DET into a 240SX swap.
The subject of TTing a 4G63 comes and goes everywhere at some time , and the simple answer is , there is not enuff exhaust airflow to support a TT setup. Theres barely enuff flow to support a single turbo setup , let alone a TT setup.
And I'm gonna play dumb here , but WHAT VR4 engine are you talking about? The Galant VR4 engine is the same 4G63 thats in the Eclipse. The 3000GT VR4 engine is the 4G72 V6 motor , and to my knowledge its been swapped into a DSM before , and was a swap I was thinking about for my Galant.

As regards the Skyline engine, I think the correct term is 'straight six' rather than inline 6 [3 rows of 2 cylinders side by side, rather than in the "V" formation of a V6, hope that makes sense]

The VR-4 engine he's talking about is probably the 6A13TT from the more current JDM Galant VR4 [2.5 V6 twin-turbo] So my guess is probably that it wont go in, since it's at least the same sort of size as the Skyline block if not bigger.

Straight 6 and Inline 6 mean the same thing here. Might mean something different to you guys in Europe , perhaps. And we also did not get the 6A13TT , the last Galant we got was back in '92 , with the 4G63T. You have to remember what country you are dealing with ..........

Silver GTR34 just so you know, the GTR engine is the RB26DETT, and the GTR and the R-34 are two different things. So its not called the GTR34, its the GTR R-34.

i kno these are WAY stupid questions, and sorry for my spelling. NissanRacing, i knew that its diff from GTR34 from GTR R-34, jus wanted my name to sound shorter...i think. but people say they have seen a DSM with a VR-4 engine. i dunno wich engine, the 3000GT or the Galants, but i jus hear people saying that it has been done. well, thanks for answering back.

As I said before , the Galant VR4's engine is the same 4G63 as in other Eclipse/Talon/Lasers from those years , 89-92.5 . I know the 3000GT 4G72 engine swap has been done before , but its a bit expensive and time consuming. And technically , its R-34 GTR , since there are R-34's that are not GTRs. The final letters designate what type it is. There are RWD only versions of the R34.

sense ur on the subject of 3000gt swaps i need to know if a 6g72tt engine will fit in my 97 3000gt sohc fwd i have been searching for days on this info. and cant seem to find it and i was wondering if any one could tell me and if so would i need anything extra for the swap (ecu tranny wiring harness etc.)

You have been searching for days for this info? YOU ARE NOT IN THE 3000GT FORUM.

Oh and BTW, if the 6g72tt is the engine in the VR4 and you want to drop it into an SL, it should fit. You will likely need everything else with it though like you mentioned above, along with transfer case and everything else that goes along with AWD.
