hey guys, im kinda new on here, but some of my friends are painting the caipers on their brakes. I was wondering if doing that would be a good idea or not.
If it is, is there a certain type of paint i should use? what should i use to clean it with before i paint it. has anyone else done this? how did it turn out?

Painting your calipers is okay...if you like the look. Theres a certain type of caliper paint in car catalogs or you should be able to find one online somewhere. I've seen a couple of painted calipers and they look like a kid with a crayon colored them red . But good luck and I hope your calipers come out nce.

Unless there is a good reason to draw attention to your brake calipers, or wheels/tires, don't paint them at all
It's so stupid when people with a stock or otherwise dumpy car paint their calipers or drums as if people are going to be impressed. Uh-oh, this guy has mustard yellow calipers, he must be a bad dude.

If he wants to paint his calipers...then let him paint them. He wants to draw attention to his calipers then...let him. It's not as if he's takin YOUR wheels off and painting YOUR calipers...so let him.

A company called G2 makes a brake caliper painting kit. I have seen the finished product, it looks nice. It is a brush on epoxy type kit. It comes with everything you need.

Actually I like the look of painted calipers and rotor hats instead of rust
![]() Just make sure you do it right or the paint will just flake off.

either find some of the specialty paint for calipers or go to any auto store and get a can of the high temp paint and you will be fine
