Oldsmobile Intrigue

My daughter's 2000 Intrigue has the 3.5L V6 apparently with an internal paper cartridge type oil filter. I've heard I need a special wrench to change the oil/filter on this car. Anyone know what I need to drain the oil and change the filter?

An oil filter wrench will work, but be careful. Its not easy. I just bought a tool at Auto Zone that fits over the end of a filter that you use a wratchet with. There is a size that fits the oil filter plug. The only problem was it broke the first time I tried to use it. I took it to work and will weld it properly. I would have taken it back, but I am tired of the hassles with a regular filter wrench. Hope this helps.
