an In-progress picture of the Loctite-Zexel R34...

Tyres have still got to be sanded, some detail painting here and there...

Has been drybrushed in certain areas and blackwashed on the mechanics. Some heat discoloration on the exhaust also.
And a nice wood-effect.

My R32 bottom:

I would have posted this in the completed thread, but....

Story is, I completed it and thought it would be cool to take this to the local hobby shop and let kids see what they could build. Left it there for a month and then went to pick it up for a local show. Well, I picked it up and pieces started to fall off etc... Well got home strated to pull it apart to fix and the whole bosy was just floppy.
Turns out someone dropped it on the floor and nobody told me. I kept what pieces I could and tossed the body. It ruined my whole weekend.
My first Skyline trashed. I'll rebuild another!

Heres mine. They arent very detailed, but the amount of work went into them, balances the equation.

I'm surprised how many people don't paint the underside the body color. Just crazy.

Here's my Mustang GT underside. It's the only one I've done in body color. It's unusual because 1:1 car undersides are not painted body color. If it shows a red X it's because Angelfire sucks.

Tamiya sure puts a lot of parts on the side that doesn't show!
The plus is, it's easier to paint a lot of detail into the suspension, and to Tamiya's credit I've never had a problem getting all 4 wheels to set right, unlike kits from other brands (Fujimi, Hasegawa, AMT, Revell, MPC, Etc.) .

That was what I was aware of as well. IF they have body color on the bottom, it most likely is a lot of overspray, most of the time US cars have undercoatig on them, being black at that.
