Thermal Exhaust

Put my thermal catback i picked up on today. Want to thank Seth for giving me a hand doing it. This exhaust sounds 100% better than my flow, the flow woulda sounded better if i had a resonater, but i got a deal on this thermal i couldnt pass up.

Heres the pics

Old Flowmaster Exhaust

My new Thermal (night shot, lil dark but ya can see it )

Midpipe (w/resonator )

the tip is around 3-3 1/2 i think but the piping is only 2 1/4. My car is really low so im guessing thats why it looks that way but my cam was on the ground also so it could be the angle. the resonator is about 5-7 inches off the ground.

EDIT - just read the Vehicle Codes for exhaust in cali and nowhere does it say anything about 3inches or anything of the sort. I know thermal makes a 3 inch turbo exhaust "For off road use only" casue it doesnt have a resonator which makes it exceed the 95db sound limit for exhausts.

Looks damn good greg.

I still think it would've been cool if we could've put 4 donut spares on your car at the last meet... That would've made your car looooooooww.

hmm....idea for next meet but only at the meet, if i drove with all 4 dounuts, my car woudl scrape the whole time and no need to destroy my underbody yet I've been thinking of getting a bodykit but no way it will work with my car as low as it is..

Up here in Washington, I've talked to a few cops about this, and they've told me that there is not decible limit to exceed. It is illegal to have your exhaust system modified to be bigger or louder than it was when it came out of the factory. Thats a bunch of crap. I mean, why aren't they pulling people over and giving them tickets all the time if thats the case? I can only go by what they've told me, but it still doesn't stop me from having my exhaust.

I have a thermal catback on my si...i loved it, well that is until i bent the shit out of it on a railroad track.

But i have to say that the resonator being low isnt uncommon. That was the only thing that used to scrape going into driveways and shit...Now that my b-pipe is bent, its even worse. funny thing is...the beat up thermal still sounds better than alot of catback exhaust for the 4g.

Greg, my offer still stands. You may borrow my rims for the price of tires. I think they would need to be low profile thoe, you have 13's and normal size/width tires and my Si's are 15's and wider.

And about your new exaust, your a bastard and I am going to murder you for it. BTW, FIX YOUR E-BRAKES!

Well its weird because my friend got a ticket one time for having a modified exhaust (had a magnaflow muffler with 2 1/4" piping and wasn't even that loud)...but i have gotten pulled over and mine was measured at 110db, and he said the legal limit was 95 but only gave me a warning. So I am not really sure on what the law is on it.

Honestly guys, if you havent figured out the "LAW" by now you need to spend a few days in my neaghborhood.
The "LAW" is that if a police officer wants to fuck with you for (And yes, I have been pulled over for the following) Eating a Penut on american soil (I am not bullshiting you) Flicking a cigaret ash out the window, parking at a red light... Realy, this is just some of the excuses that I have heard from officers around here.

Yeah i've been pulled over for 3 things (speeding, exhaust, pulling into a parking lot of a park too late, lol) and only got ticketed for the speeding but yeah a bunch of my friends have gotten pulled over for things where it seems unheard of.
