Autobody Techs: Help Needed: Pics Inside

I just bought a 94 EG today, it has a colision on the front end. I already stripped off the damaged parts. But the Rad Support is still messed obviously. Is it possible to just drill out the spot welds, then go to a wrecker and buy one thats in good shape. Then just bolt it on....you know run bolts through the drilled holes....or even mig weld it back on. Let me know guys before I do something dumb.

That was a very hard hit... I bet the car is bent more than the eye can see. Your best bet to get it fixed right would be to get it on a frame machine and pull it back into proper specs.

what I think Im going to do is Drill out the spot welds and remove the rad support.....order a new one from Honda. Then weld it on and bolt it on.....but before putting it on I'll get it put on a frame puller.

I dunno - i agree with miata on this one - i'd wager that there's a lot more damage than those pictures evidence, and i'd also wager theres a lot of stress fractures that you can't see all over the chassis.

I don't know - it scares me a little to think that thing might be back on the road one day =)

before you go any farther you may want to talk to a body shop... taking off the support now might not be the best way to go. I doubt the frame is cracked too much but i can almost 100% assure you that it is compressed. if you were to look under the floor pans I bet there would be creases. they will have the dimensions for the car and when they put it up on the rack they will be able to figure out how far back things got pushed when it was hit and will probably be able to pull it back very close to where it needs to be. they might want to use the support you are talking about taking off to pull on. i would greatly advise to get further advice from a local body shop before doing any cutting/drilling. removing bolts is one thing but when you cut/drill you could end doing more harm than good unless you are totally sure of what you are doing
