You're better than me! Our server just took a crapper, and I'm sitting here rearranging paperwork in my cubicle. As if I had nothing else better to do....

My job varies....last few weeks I have been soooo busy. And when I go back tomorrow it will be the same thing....too much crap to catch up on. But I have gone weeks on end with almost nothing to do aside from misc. filing and doing expense reports. When I have a ton of downtime I study my program books and do notes......and of course postwhore on message boards

I have one of those great jobs were what I do never changes, I start at the same time, and finnish when everything is done, and its always the same things that need doing, in the same order. (uless someone at the bakery fucks up, then it can get interesting)

but today is my day off, I have nothing that I have to do except take some DVDs back, so I'll do as little as possible.

Hey Super, what do you do? My work is very boring too at times (hence the shameless post-whoring), but I play computer games on the company's computer!! All of us do since we work 2nd shift (1500-2200). Only thing that sucks is they use the builtin Intel video chip on the motherboard (Dell), so the games can't get too intense. Also, since they have a proxy, I can't play games over the internet (no Diablo 2 LOD on BattleNet ). My coworker has gone through like 5 games so far... Yeah it can get pretty boring. Fortunately, I have AF to help pass the time.

Here's a list:
  • general web surfing (google)
  • AF
  • email (company and hotmail)
  • internet radio
  • music videos at launch.com
  • games, generally rts or rpg
  • download movie trailers
  • generally take advantage of the high speed connection
  • homework
  • photoshop
  • programming (personal)
  • web design
  • ftp
  • learn a new trade or skill
  • download useless stuff
  • AF some more

About the only thing I don't do is chat (ex: aim, icq), porn, and download illegal MP3s--though I sometimes get unwillingly redirected to porn sites. Oh yeah, did I mention that I'm monitored!?

I should also mention I live on AF now and check Hotmail like 50 times an hour!!

So again I ask, what do you do? What do they allow you to do? More importantly, what can you get away with?!

I deal with Oracle databases and PL/SQL programming. We're actually under some pretty tight deadlines right now but unless we get cooperation from the client we can't move forward. It's cool because I became pretty good friends w/their network admin so I don't get in trouble for surfin the web too much. No games though, I'm the youngest one here and the other people are the 'serious' workers. I do get to play Worms once in a while though. I had tony hawk but that's just too hard to play on the comp so I'll stick to it on the ps2. Sometimes I feel like bringing in my xbox in my computer bag and hooking it into my computer through my video card and playing since I sit in the corner and nobody can see what I'm doing BUt that thing is just soooo heavy. And then I would really never get anything done. Oh well, it's a new day and I should at least attempt to start doing something! Be back in a bit!
