95 mustang GT

A friend of mine is selling a 95 mustang GT convertible. It has leather, mach stereo, power locks, windows, seats, etc.

It has 150,000 miles on it (probably 75% highway, he drove to dallas and back here every week).

There's a few issues with it
-Temp guage doesn't work
-Stereo (stock) won't turn down...only up.
-AC blows for about 10mins, then starts smelling really bad and squealing so I have to turn it off.
-Theres a few small tears in the drivers seat
-Needs 2 front tires very soon

He will sell it to me for $3750, but i'm wondering if these problems will end up costing a lot more to fix? 3750 for the car is way under book, but what am I looking at to pay for these fixes?

That is pretty cheap! Then again the car has 150k miles on it. Do you know how the car was driven, beaten or babied? Even if the motor does crap out, you could put a new motor in for about the price of the car. The problems you list are nothing big, and if your willing to take on the task of wrenching out all of the gremlins, then go for it. Just beware of other problems that may occur that you were not told about.

Ya, sounds like a decent price. The A/C squealing could be as simple as needing a new drive belt or as bad bearings going out in compressor.

It was babied. Theres not a dent on the entire body. A few small scratches, and the Texas sun had some issues with the paint so it's fading a bit but nothing major.

All the electronics inside work (with the exception of the stereo not wanting to turn down, only up).

The miles again were mostly highway. I think I'm going to go ahead and get it, I've been driving it around for a couple days...he let me borrow it to see how I like it. It rides smooth, is pretty quiet even being a convertible and everything works great. It's just too much fun to drive.

hi ,i have a 95 gt conv,i love it the problems you listed are small as far as the ac, if the tops not down why drive it ,(just kidding) but its a conv i never use the ac,steal it for that price and find yourself taking long rides to nowhere and loving it, good luck yeah one more thing at that price you'll be able to buy new rear tires more often, you'll be needing them (what a blast these babies are to play with).
