Facelift
Whoa, AF looked normal, then I clicked to go into the Vector forum and the title bar was all different. Anniversary facelift in progress!

I like the new look, esp. the front page.
This may be OT, but does anyone else notice the PHP error on the front page? Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/auto/public_html/index.php:6) in /home/auto/public_html/vbulletin/admin/functions.php on line 1470 It's in the Message Board box (y'know, the one that says "Welcome back, name" and [Enter] below that). Seems to me that that the PHP file that contains the Message Board box outputs the header again--in other words calls session_start() again. You only need to call session_start() once in one file (generally the parent file, which is index.php in this case). This carries over to all files included by that parent file (if you know how #include works, you know why). This used to happen to me when I first learned PHP because I called session_start() again so I can see those session variables in other files. But if you need to access a session variable in other files, just redeclare the variables a global so you can see them. Calling session_start() more than once may not be the real issue, but it's my guess for now. You probably display the Message Board box by calling a function stored in functions.php, so that's probably the best place to look for bugs. |

Yeah, I don't get any errors either. Its a problem in your browser in how it displays the page. What kind of browser are you using and is it updated?

It's a bloody PHP error!! That's a server side thing and my browser in no way affects it. I've programmed in PHP so I'm pretty sure I know what I'm saying. I use IE 5.5 (home) and 6.0 (school) and NS 4.7, BTW. I get the error no matter which computer or browser I use.
Btw, here's what shows up when your not logged on: Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/auto/public_html/index.php:6) in /home/auto/public_html/vbulletin/admin/functions.php on line 1470 Warning: Cannot add header information - headers already sent by (output started at /home/auto/public_html/index.php:6) in /home/auto/public_html/vbulletin/admin/functions.php on line 1470 |

Btw, I went back to the front page in IE after I have logged in and don't see an error. However, I still see an error when I'm NOT logged in. Okay, that's weird, I logged out and now I don't see the error at all. Alright, here's the error after I deleted ALL cookies and my cache (IE):

Here's the error in NS (not logged in, first time):

Note, this seems pretty random. Like most computer problems, it seems to come and go. I have troubling getting it to show up now. It seems to come up only after you've cleaned out all your cache and history and deleted all your cookies. Doing this forces the browser to request the latest version of the page from the server.
I'll try to get one AFTER I've logged in. |

oh yes, and I also noticed that many times I can't get those dropdown menus. It just won't stay down long enough to click "View Latest Posts"
PLUS, the scrolling text layers OVER the drop-down... but the design is good, just a few kinks... the scrolling thing has been their for quite som time tho.. |
