Lambo doors and other door mods...

I haven't seen any 240's with "Lambo" door mods or anything other hinge type other than stock and I was wondering if anyone else has.

I know gullwing would be nearly impossible since the windows are frameless, plus that's a dated look. Lambo or scissor doors are cool, but too many civics, crxs, and eclipses have them. I think butterflies are nice, but much harder to do.

Thinking that a 240sx would look nice with lambo doors, but standard lambo doors do open at a 45-60 degree angle...the one's I would like to make would open up to a 90 degree angle so they are perpendicular to the ground. Just an idea that I think would be cool. Haven't seen any pictures of one as I mentioned above so I have no idea how good or bad it would look.

Who thinks scissor and butterfly doors look good and who thinks the opposite?

personally i think lambo doors on a 240 are lame. its like someone trying to pretend they have a fancy car. i would take that money and work on my suspension.

i personally think shit like that should only come AFTER you've totally built up the performance aspect of your car, since that's definitley a show-only aspect. i also personally like the way the doors open regularly. opening them up or up and over is more of a hassle, and i don't really care what i look like getting out of my car. also, i think it's sinking too much money into the exterior of the car.

Valid points, I just think it is a good mod for a sleeper car kinda since it makes it cooler, but also no one can tell if they don't see the car with the doors open. I know expensive cars are mostly the cars that have them, but that's because it's something that isn't really needed. Just like you don't see turbos on economy cars...stock at least.

I just think I would like the way they open...just like getting some really nice seats like the Sparco Milano seats which look nearly stock, but still adds benefits over the original seats. And I would definitely build the car up at least a little (engine swap is the biggest priority and then suspension and then the minor mods like engine dress ups, interior, exterior)

In Japan, economy cars have turbos

Dude, those things are so fucking heavy, theyre probably a performance de-creaser...

And even then, most 240 people would laugh at you for doing Lambo doors...sad but true.

i think they look cool......

would I do it on a 240sx...... no

what would I do to a 240sx

I would gut that mutherfucker and make a hardcore race car. If you want to race, race....

Im more into track racing then street racing and showing off to a bunch of idiots....

top 10 most important things

1-Coilovers with STIFF springs and dampers... so stiff that it handles the body roll by itself and there is no need for heavy, thick solid sway bars. Sway bars also kinda decrease your turning ability to an extent, Id say it makes your turning radius bigger....

2-Brakes

3-Temperature Control, ducting, fans, splitters, under car trays etc.

4- Weight Watchers

5-Free-est flowing coldest air pulling intake with shortest possible distance.

6-" " exhaust

7-Quality Igniton

8-Lightweight small wheels, ain't no bling bling here buddy

9-Clean fuel filters and good working pump

10- toyo R compound or hoosier tires muhahah mad grip!

you don't need all this race shit, you just need your car working effectively and let your skill go at it. it is possible for say a 150hp 240sx to spank a 250hp Mustang on a track, You don't need some 600hp engine, 18*10 wheels with big ass tires, and all this fancy shit to go fast, you need to know what your doing and go out there and win...

about that sway bar thing. Why most cars come with them is because to handle body roll, but this takes away your agility. They give stock cars soft springs for ride quality for grandma... if you have stiff ass race springs that are no way meant for the street u don't need swaybars at all.

yeah it probly would look stupid, but about performance decreaser...it only adds at most 50 pounds to the weight of the car (depending on how you go about doing it). I know to some that much weight matters, but I weigh less than most so it evens out (I weigh 150) lol.

Maybe it would look good on an MR2...I dunno...I just really like hinge mods...especially hood and door.

it would be cool, it just takes a lot of money, is kinda ricey unless you have an rb or heavily modded s15 sr engine, and i believe it weighs you down considerably.

I think its ricey regardless. I dont care what engine, its pointless, and its a total show item when 240SXs are born to perform.

i'd do it once i have my engine and suspension built, and once the exterior of the car is at its prime level.. then and only then will i take it to the lambo door step, which i most likely will not, but its kool for later.

but for now .. EVERYONE has other things they can do to their cars.
