my line command only draws arrows??? why?

i've tried everything.... i've searched through everything in the drop down menu (far left on tool the line tool bar) and i cant figure it out....

why wont it draw lines....

try right clicking on the icon in the tool box then go down to the line.

i right click on the line tool (L) then i pick line tool... and it draws and arrow....
