Angry 99 Tahoe Guttless

I am having a problem when accelerating. I put my foot to the floor and the response is terrible! There is at least a 2 -3 second delay before going. I have the 5.7L engine. Any help?

Possibly fuel starvation. I would start by replacing the fuel filter if you haven't changed in last 15k miles.

My '99 Tahoe just developed the same problem. I was coming off an entrance ramp, hit the gas and nothing happened. The engine sounded like it was starving. Another Tahoe owner suggested I have the oxygen (O2) sensor replaced. I haven't tried it yet.

My 99 Tahoe was doing the same thing about a month ago. Felt like it had no power and was struggling to get gas at times. I changed the fuel filter and tried putting that stp gas treatment. Don't waste your time. It's your fuel pump. Mine finally went out one morning. Expensive fix. Cost me 560.00++ tax. And I used a local shop I do a lot of business with. Chevrolet place wanted 699.00 plus tax. Good Luck. Jason
