Prepare to get flamed :-) The VQ engine that the Maxima comes with is one of, if not THE very best V6 engines available.

I don't think you are going to find a chevy V6 that beats it.

Perhaps I'm missing it...but WHY would you want to put in a GM V6 engine instead of the Maxima's V6?

Not that it would fit but the only engine from Chevy I would consider putting into my Max would be the 427 and it definitely wouldn't be anything in the form of their V6's.

Nissan makes the Best V6 in the VQ 9 years and counting according to Ward's, so why would you want to put an old pushrod OHV V6 into your Max when you already have a DOHC that is the best in the world?

Help someone make the bad man stop.

There are few guys on the maxima.org forums, with 1st gen. maximas which have over 400k miles on them. Still look and run fucking owesome. My maxxie has 94k miles and is still in perfect shape. If you are complaining that your maxxie has 67k miles on it, you should sell maxxie and get urself a Geo metro or something. Maximas last forever as long as you take care of them and do the oil changes at right times.
