Question Sell LS and buy GSR or stay with LS?

i have a 94 LS w/ 110,xxx miles on it and i was wondering if i should just sell it and go for the GSR or just keep the LS. I was also going to go for a camaro z28 but figured the cost of insurance and gas would end up catching up to me.

If i keep the LS i plan on doing these things:
1)AEM short ram cold intake
2)DC 4-2-1 Header Ceramic
3)Cat Back Exhaust...kind undecided...please help me w/ that
4) Skunk2 intakemanifold
5) B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator and Fuel Pressure Gauge
6) Jun Stage 3 Cams, Jun Double Valvesprings and Jun Retainers

i know how much work it takes to install the 1st 3 but im not sure if i will be able to do the last 3 with my limited car knowledge. with investing this much ill probably put some rims on it...probably 16's b/c 17's are too heavy and 15's are too small.

BTW....i finally got my fender fixed!

well I personally would get a GSR its a better faster engine, unless you wanna do the LS/VTEC swap you will wanna rebuild it before you drop the VTEC head on it anyway. I would just get a GSR and get the list of things you have for the GSR instead of the LS.

Also short ram cold intakes dont exist...its cold air or short ram...

Also a header isnt the easiet thing too put on you have to take the engine out I believe.

Anyway good luck

Keep the LS and turbo it.
If you REALLY want to stay all-motor than go with the GSR. Also the LS has cheaper insurance BTW.

dont have to take the engine out. that would be such a bitch if you did... have to get under the car though and have access to air tools, cant get some of those bolts off with a normal socket cuz of their angle unless you have a really long socket extension

Good choice. My dad has a 99 z28, and i still like my GS-R better. Probably because camaros are fugly. I'll tell you one thing though, if you are goin down a strait road or drag strip.. it hauls some ass. Otherwise... :\ Its american.

But like I said before the LS will have cheaper insurance, and that matters a lot to most people. Turbo is the way to go IMO, all-motor GSR is too expensive to get as much HP as turboing a LS would.

how much do you think it would cost to get the turbo and have it installed?? what kind of horse power increase are we looking at? i also heard there is alot of tuning and constant care w/ a turbo...is this true and how does one go about learning how to tune?

to turbo your car past 210hp u will need extensive mods and yes there is constant care needed. The TURBOS alone without the kit can go for 2g's or u can buy a big broken turbo for like 300 then send it to Turbonetics or any turbo rebuilding shop and they'll fix it for 500 or so. with limited car knowledge expect to pay a ridiculous amount of money in labor and parts. Turbo's are only good if u or your good friends know their ish about it. otherwise go for the GS-R get some highquality boltons and minor internal work and u should be good to go

you guys have officially convinced me to just buy a camaro. GSR's are the same amount of money as a z28 but are half the car.

I wouldn't recommend getting an LT1 z28... they're problems are pretty well-documented and the plastic crap in there is even cheaper than the LS1 Camaros (thas saying something). But if u want immediate passage into 13.5 ET get an Automatic 98-02 Z28 (LS1). a 14s ET is available if u want the LT1's (93-97) but they all bite the big one in terms of reliability. and believe me...u'll prolly crash your camaro soon after getting it if you've been driving around in a japanese vehicle because the visibility is so damn difficult to deal with. Bottom line...LS1 camaro's are good... LT1 sux

An LS1 camaro with the 6 speed can hit 12's bone stock with a good driver! Thats pretty cool, but I don't like the styling of the 94-up camaro's.
