Exclamation Wtb 240sx

I'm looking to purchase a 240SX (around a 93-94+ which I believe is the S14 body?) in the Atlanta, GA - Jacksonville, FL area's. Anyone know of any (perhaps a friend or something?) or has one of thier own to sell please e-mail me at [email protected].

I couldn't find a classified forum so mods if I misplaced this, please excuse me.

I've already done that, I'm not asking for people to find them for me, I'm asking if anyone has one to sell. STFU

Have you done any research on the car first or are you just buying it because it is a fad? Because if you did some research you would know that the 93-94 are not the s14 body style but the s13.

The sad thing is many people who get pissed about this becoming a fad are the people who jumped on the bandwagon rather than liking it before it was so popular. Just like drifting, all these people get pissed at the new people and they were once new and probly weren't part of the scene when it was a little niche.

btw for reference
s13 89-94
s14 95-98 (got a slight face lift in 97)

If you like the car, then enjoy it, but if you are buying it to brag that you own a drift car then get something else please. The S14 is pretty sparse and I hope that they all won't end up in the junk yards before I have enough to purchase one. Also please don't rice it out with a fang body kit or walmart hubcaps...

I said 93-94+ though I mentioned I was unsure about the body, the engine and such I am, HOWEVER I said 93-94+** because that's the year I'm looking for because of insurance though I would like something newer. No I'm not getting this for a fad, I want one because they look good and I'd like to save my pennys and drop in a RB25DETT because I cannot afford a skyline. The 240SX just so happens to look very good to me, therefor I like them and wish to purchase one.

Edit: klohiq; I don't want it for drifting, thanks for your insight though, I wish to have one because I like the way the look and if anything (given I have the money) I want to do everything I can to the engine just short of making it not street-legal. Then maybe some minor body work, maybe a front and/or rear end conversion. Oh and unlike a lot of people, I'm doing pure engine mods for HP I'm not using stickers for HP

I don't appreciate people jumping on me for something I even said I wasn't sure about, making it sound as if I came here sounding as if I was all knowing, or that I'm doing this as part of some "fad" or to be a ricer, I simply like the Silvia but it's easier to get a 240SX, I love Nissan's they're good cars and by god they can move if you tweak them right... even with out they still move.

Your gonna be saving your pennies a long time for that engine. Probally gonna cost 10k + for that engine and installation. Imagine what happens when something goes wrong with it? Another 10grand - for a new engine and installation. That engine is for a AWD car, if your gonna even attempt to put it in the 240sx get some other skyline engine thats ment to be rear wheel drive. Remember no matter what engine you put in it, its still gonna be a 240SX. If i were you i'd spend that 10 grand on the Ka24DE engine that originaly comes with the car. It responds very well to modification. with 10grand that would be spent on the skyling engine and instalation im sure you could slap a turbo thats bigger then your head to the 240SX and get the engine to handle that power. With a grand or 2 alone you can buy a realnissan starter kit and have over 250hp at 8psi. Skylines are way overplayed along with the SR20DET or any skyline engine "holy sh*t is that a skyline? thats better then having sex with britney spears!" You want power in a straight line and you want a nissan? I got the perfect car for you...300ZX twin turbo, with a few grand you'll be pushing over 400hp, few more grand maybe over 500 and you'll be faster then pretty much anything on the road for less then $90k. Skyline, silvia?... come on, who needs em, i'd rather have a 240SX with the Ka24De. Now that i cleared that up, if you want a 240SX look in autotrader, go by a 7-11 and pick one up. 240SX S14 is the silvia and is 1995-1998 i think, the 240SX that is the 180SX in japan is the fastback 1989-1993 and the 240SX that is a S13 silvia is the 240SX coupe 1989-1993, 1994 is a convertable, call it what you want, but i think only silvias came convertable in japan. The skyline engine that you want, you gonna probaly get hassled bringing it over, most likley its gonna be missing peices that you realy need and are probaly gonna have to go to japan yourself to get. Oh yeh and when i said 10k for that RB25DET and instalation its an estimate, but like i always say, always expect the worse to happen. MAY even be more then that, or you'll get lucky and it will be less. But along with all the other stuff i said, if your worried about incurance costs, i dont think you should be looking to do any drastic engine swap like that.

oh yeh, i think that new infinitie is pretty much the same thing as the new skyline so why dont you get that instead of spending all that on the swap and the car? I may be wrong about that the new infinitie G35 being the same as the skyline, i went to the skyline forums and asked awile ago, they couldnt even figure it out.

I have a friend that can get a rebuild RB25DETT and tranny for about $6000 with out install, my cousin owns the largest body shop in town and he'll cut me a deal on installation. I might stick with the Ka or as I'd like to get a SR20DET, I've been told you can get ~400 HP with stock internals... that sounds too high to be realistic... ~325-350 sound about right? I've been looking in classifieds, I've found a few, but frankly I trust some of the people here more, so if someone here had one for sale I feel it will have been better taken care of perhaps. Not saying I wouldn't still take it to a mechanic first but I feel there is a lower chance of having any major defects, moreso any defects that I might not be informed of.

You guys have info on the engine(s) the car and such, feel free to toss it my way, I'm eager to learn as much as I can.
