Exclamation Race,Race,Race!

I'm driving down the street one night, It's about 1am. I stop at a red light, and i'm waiting for the green. All of a sudden out of literaly no where this 95 Altima pulls up. He's got an exhaust, and intake, and maybe headers, I really couldn't tell at 1am. Now I'm thinking Now from my experience my Civic DX hasn't really beat that many cars. It's got an intake, and exhaust. Now I see the green, and we both take off. I pull ahead and he tries to catch up. kind of stays w/ me. My car is auto so I shifted into D3 which is like no overdrive for civics. My car jumps forward and I totally kill him. I wish there was money involved. I was so happy, I was like .

WTF! how hard is it to race an automatic altima an whoop his ass. Even if I do have a civic I'm proud of it. I'll go for any race, even if i don't win, and I don't Give a shit at this point, when I get my real baby after college then, we can talk!

I'm usually the defender of the unlikely races here, because I have seen so many of them, and I know how things can get twisted on the streets, but a stock, 5-speed DX can probably beat you right now, with your prolaimed mods.

That stock, 5-speed DX, with 2500lbs and 102HP (for your year car...1.5liter), will have a hard time keeping up with a stock, any generation Altima, since the weakest motor they ever put in one is the 155HP version of the KA truck motor. Those versions weigh about 2800lbs.

So, unless he was running on three cylinders, you can see where your story is a bit hard to swallow.

I agree completely with the unlikelyness of this story. The flag has been raised and I salute it But 155hp was the weakest altima engine??? I'm no Altima expert, but that seems a lil high to me. i say this only because I murdered many many many Altimas with my old 94 Accord (5sp man., 2.2L I4 135hp) and laugh at them with my 2000 Accord (5sp man, 2.3L I4 150 hp). I am speaing of course about the 1st and 2nd gen Altimas. Not the new 180hp 2.5's and DEFINITELY not the 240hp 3.5's!

They had horrible gearing (for racing, that is). That, combined with low revs, made them better for around-town cruising (good, easy shifts), but not a high-speed or top-gear performer.

The '03+ Altima is a different story, though.

So you were on overdrive and then shifted out of it? Or did you do a 1-2-3 shift with the auto? I dont get you... If youre racing an auto put it in 3 gear and LEAVE it there!

man this guy sounds like this other dumbass i know with an 03 corolla l3 ....

"if i woulda turned the overdrive off i so woulda pulled on you"

well you didnt

"but you launched while the light was still red"

while i may have STARTED while the light was red, it was green when i crossed the white line.

"well my corolla is still faster than your civic"

while that may be, the fact remains that i beat you, and my civics left headlight isnt held on by duct tape
