I borrowed money from someone and gave them my signed pink slip as collateral ... they took my title to the DMV and put it in their name about 3 weeks ago. A lady at the DMV said I can place a stop transfer on the title. Is this true? Anybody had to do that before?

Can't say I've done that before.
What are you pissed about. That he transfered the title? Did you pay them back the money? If not, work up a contract to have the car signed back over when you do. If you have paid them back, then you better call a lawyer ASAP and have them work out the legaleeze of the situation.

When you signed it, you transferred title to them. You could have just let them put a Lien on it so the title remained in your name. Now, if you default, it is easier for them to take the car back -- because it's theirs!
