How do you change the car color?

Hey im using Adobe Photoshop 6 and i wanna learn how to change from color to color on the car.

I would also like to know.

Another thing I was wondering about was lowering a car. I have been using the lasso tool. I select an area around the car and cut and paste it where I want it to be. This leaves blank spots in the background though. Is there another way of doing this so the background stays the same?
