Tamiya paint question

Hey guys, I just started using Tamiya paint, and the result is awsome. The paint went on smooth and thin. The only problem is it looks a bit dull compared to the Testors paint. I painted the car a Tamiya Metalic black. My question is with the Testors paints after I paint the cars I wax them using meguirs pure wax and get great results. Would I have a problem using the wax on the Tamiya paint? Do I need to clear coat the tamiya first? Thanks!

If you used metallic paint, I would suggest a clear coat before you do any waxing or polishing.
