Thumbs up

This is the answer given by Dennis, a Team Camaro moderator, to that same question. He's good at this stuff.
The SS option on a 1st gen was a performance upgrade. It introduced the Chevy 350ci to the world in 1967 making 295hp or you could get it with one of three 396's (325hp, 350hp & 375hp). Dual exhaust came std on the 350 and 396's. All came with a 12bolt rear, mono leaf rear springs, your choice of auto or stick and disc brakes in front if you wanted them. You could get ac on them but not the 350 or 375hp models. All '67s got the finned inserts in the hood.

The '68 SS changed some, they all got multi leaf spring, disc's were still optional on all and all got dual exhaust. The 350ci version got the finned hood trim and the BB got a new planter box or volicity stack hood trim.

'69 was equipped like the other too with minor changes, all got the planter box hood trim, the 350 got rated at 300hp and disc's were std on all SS'

Check out www.camaros.org and click on the ID pages for each year to see more facts about these cool cars from the past...

Talking

Hey, it wasn't his fault, a couple of cold ones went to my right hand's fingers last night.
Although when is related to Camaros, I don't mind reading the same info several times. Nice Nova you got there, I have a 70 waiting for some front body parts, to start a new proyect. Know what? It looks like a Camaro from underneath!
