I have a 2000 F150 4X4 Off Road 5.4L V8 Extended Cab with a paint issue on the hood of my truck. The problem is that it keeps coming up with bubbles in the paint. I have had a FORD dealer repaint the hood twice and it keeps coming back. This is the year when FORD started using the aluminum hoods. Is there anybody who has a similar problem or has any ideas with a solution to this paint problem?
Thanks Dano

Re: 2000 F150 4X4 Off Road 5.4L PAINT PROBLEM???
Yes the problem with the paint is incompatible primer and base coat. Many dealers have had this problem since about 1985, it seems to happen when new or probably cheaper materials are introduced. The paint may work with body metal but not with aluminun. Hope this helps!
