I'm little bit puzzled with some engine room details on one of my current projects, Tamiya 205T16 rallye. I've found some pics from the net and books, but I'd still need more information to clarify some details. If you have any good engine room pics of 205T16 evo 1, please post.
And now the questions: What is the big tank on the left of the picture (I draw it's other side, so you'll see that it has a some kind of pipe attachment also below it too)? In FIA homologation papers it's captioned "Carter sec, nb. de pompe 1 à 5 étages" and it's shown with a crankcase looking thing beside it. I don't speak French, so the caption didn't help me to identify the tank. Where do the pipes go from the tank and from the (oil?) radiators? (see yellow arrows) What is the small tank attached to the firewall and where does the pipe go from it? One more pic which may help identifying the parts: ![]() If you even have a good hunch what the parts might be or where the lines are going, please give some advice, as any good guess is probably better than any of mine Thanks for any help, -Mikko |

Can’t be of much help Mikko, for some reason good pics of Group B 205’s, especialy Evo1s are very difficult to find. Here are a few but they don’t really clarify the pipe routing.
![]() ![]() I would guess the big tank is some kind of overflow resoviour, but wouldn’t know if the radiators at the back are water, oil or intercoolers. |

Well my english are not good enough to try to explain you but carter is for the oil system that lubricates the motor...So propably the tank you are talking about is for the oil so look where it should goes(propably underneath or on the side of the motor)hope I helped...

Mikko,
i have the same trouble as you have, i don't know where those pipes go :-(. Seems we are some here to make an extra detailed Pug 205. If you want to see an extra detailed 205 T16 build go there : http://giraud.blanaz.net/index2.php, click on photos buttons ans select the car ... the base is an old heller bobkit 205 t16. For a 205 t16 evo 2, a great adress is http://homepage2.nifty.com/KEN-RALLY/seisaku1.htm Phil, Mikko, if you are interest, i have some 205 detailed picture that you may interested in coming from french book. PM me if you want them.

Thanks for replies. I guess I'll have to use some imagination in routing those pipes then. I know the transmission has several mysterious pipe attachment points too (four on the square block on the driver's side atleast), maybe some of the hoses end up there...
