Info on the GSx Eclipse ... new engine possibility?? u tell me
To who ever might noe the answer to this question and to those who might have a good idea... is it possible to drop a gto twin turbo vr-4 into an awd eclipse gsx turbo.. i noe that the eclipse is a four banger and the gto a 6 but does it really matter? and is it possible?? thanx

I know it's possible to put a 6 cylinder into a 2g eclipse, but i doubt a twin turbo v6 like the vr4 will...

try try try as hard as you can and if it doesnt work jus drop in a 6-bolt 4g63 and tune it to 400+hp@wheels and kill some v-8's

thanx for all the input ... ill give it a try .. need to raise 2k for the 6 banger ...il probaly go with a gto engine ...only porblem is they only come twin and without the possibility of a single turbo. im thinking the evo engine with an upgraded garret 4 turbo.. but thatll be about 4 g's.. and the whole idea is to get the 6 cyl. any ideas on mitsu engies??? 6 bangers.. lemme noe

You can easily convert the 3/S to single turbo, thats the least of your problems, getting it into the DSM engine bay is another story

Why in the world anyone would want to do this is beyond me, but it seems like it would be next to impossible to fit the VR4 motor in the eclipse :shrug:

I would say that unless you want to do this motor swap just so you can say that you have done it, you are better off spending the 2K you are raising or even less on rebuilding you stock motor. With that much invested in eninge work you could have a very potent engine that in all likelyhood would easily outperform the stock 3/S motor anyway. PLUS you wouldn't have any over the headaches, hidden costs, and delays that comes with starting into a project like this.
