would a y pipe for a 4th gen maxima fit on my car? i still have that freebie lying around that budget sent me and if it'll fit i'll put that fucker on ASAP.

I dunno if it is going to work but I can tell that you wont see much hp gains since the Vq 3.5 is near the maximum output for Na power from what hear Z owners are saying.

i doubt that...y-pipe/intake/exhaust is good for 15fwhp. and headers on a 3.5 altima were good for 25fwhp.

pao, you should check for pics of both, see if they match up, and check the specs. my gut instinct would be no though

Oh my mistake I have forgeten that the Maxima is not near the max hp out put of the Vq like the G and the Z unless you got one that was tuned well. But that is still an issue on the Max but not as big as it is on the Z and G loosing power. The Altima is restricted alot hence the 240 and 245hp engines.

i'm just looking at my options, i wanna modify this car but i think the full exhaust system wasn't the best idea on my old car; lots of blah sounds and the fucker backfired everytime i'd get a good shift which i didn't really like. so i wanna go full exhaust with the stock muffler. who makes headers for the 3.5? i looked at the one on stillen.com but there were no power gains listed or price. from the pic they have it looked like the header and y pipe were one unit. and if i do end up with the muffler and all i wanna wait til there's a dual exhaust setup available like the one for the 4th gen. like i said i'm just weighing my options nothing is definite.
BTW i get the beast back tomorrow. can't fuckin wait.
