Diana's Private love letters-- no longer private

It seems that nothing stays private forever. Princess Diana had a former lover named James Hewitt, with whom she shared intimate letters, and appearently, these letters will be read on British Television. I dont know about anyone else, but just because she is dead, doesnt mean that reading the letters is ok. I dont know, maybe Im just weird, but I dont think that it's anyones business what was in those letters.

I didn't know that they were going to read them on TV. That's weird.

Another fine example of just how low gutter journalists are prepared to go in search of an audience. This kind of sensationalist muckracking is the core staple of dreary women's magazines[bought by dreary women],and should stay there. Is there a single male out there who gives a rat's ass about private letters between a dead princess and an upper-class shit?

Yes there most likely are men out there who would be interested in hearing what is in those letters but that is not the point nor is your belief that, and I qoute "This kind of sensationalist muckracking is the core staple of dreary women's magazines[bought by dreary women],and should stay there " this is about the basic human right to privacy. These letters where written in private between these two people however right or wrong it was for them to do it and should remain private.

Can somebody please point out the manner in which these letters became available for publication?Unless I am much mistaken, the upper-class shit in question sold his privacy to the highest bidder.

Well, this is another show about this Diana character that I will not be watching. Not because of the content - but because I could give a rats ass about her or the rest of the royals

anything to do with Diana always seems to be exploited. Personnally i don't care about anything to do with the royal family. They really need some more privacy and the only way they can do that is to desolve the royalty.

It's one thing to talk about the private lives of someone who is alive, but its another to talk about those who are dead. Just a huge sign of disrespect in my opinion. Its just like them talking about JFK Jr.'s private life again recently. Let them live in the after life in peace. Totally disrepectful.

His solicitor is in posession of the letters and Channel 4 spokesperson has said they are allowed to read out excerpts from the letters but not the full content as that would cause a barring order against the program. As most people have said this is down to privacy that the media like to exploit and the need to reform the laws surrounding a persons privacy whether they are dead or alive.
