Well, so much for my Civic...

I almost rear-ended a friend while drag racing going 100 mph (not smart, but fun anyway). Brakes basically failed. But 3 days later, i'm driving a 1993 Accord DX.

Holy shit, I must just be used to the powerless wonder (D15B2 with Dual point) but this thing really flies. It's an automatic, but the F22 feels so underrated...125 HP? I got pushed into my seat merging onto a freeway.

And this thread would suck without pictures, so...

Anyone else here driven an accord of this generation?

My dad has a 92 that I love to death...

So, what exactly happened to the civic? You said you "almost" rear-ended your friend, and said that your brakes failed, but you didn't exactly say that you got in a wreck... what gives?

My mom has a white 91 accord ex sedan with a 5spd ... only mods are a new radiator and some piaa foglights ... nothing done to the engine but i love that car ... has 130 something on it as far as miles.

I also have a friend with a 92 accord lx sedan auto that only has 70k miles on it ... only mod is intake.

Anyways nice car man ... you will love it ... actually has torque over the sohc civic engines and will generally give sohc civics a run for their money. I know my moms accord will blow me out of the water.

Pics of either car are available upon request if you wanna see em.

Main brakes failed but managed to stop with the parking brake. I was scared as shit.
My Civic had been burning oil for a little while before the drag (lost all of its coolant, probably burned it up pretty bad) and my parents decided to give me this thing and ditch the Civic. I'm happy.

the 90-93 accords kick ass. i am driving a 90 LX 5 speed right now (our street is being chip sealed and there is no WAY i'm taking my 4g4d on that shit) and that accord kicks ass. it feels faster than Phact's Si ZC, and his car runs a 16.1...

those accords are under-rated.. the F22 has a lot of potential, and the car itself has the ability to swap a H22 pretty easily...

My previous car was a 91 Accord EX... I thought the F22 power was good for a while ... the EX has 140hp as opposed to the DX's and LX's 125hp.
Difference in the power cause? Different intake manifold, and cam.... so just do a swap on the manifolds and get the EX cam, and there ya go.
Although I went ahead and put an H22a in my Accord... which was FUN FUN FUN power.

One of these days, I'mgoing to buy another 4th gen Accord and tune an F22 to its limits.

As for the 4th gen Accord... I love them to death... I wish I still had mine.

Hey Melt, nice Accord...I really like those EX alloys.

How hard is it to swap a H22a into one of these?

i thinki teh 90-93 accords are the most "pimp" honda cars. if i was to get a bunch of subs, tint windows, get some nice wheels maybe chrome, i would get a black 90-93 accord. I like my civic for the lightweight racer, but i'd like to make a nice cruiser out of one of those gen accords.
