oil burning question
what are some reasons that i would be burning oil?

well you could have a bad gasket somewhere so oil would leak into the cylinder or one or more of the piston rings could be bad so oil ends up in the cylinder and burns. thats the only things i could think of though, but i dont know too much.

How many miles do you have on the car? Any engine work done to it?
1. Worn rings 2. Blown head gasket 3. Valve stem seals are cracked/worn out. This usually clears up after the car heats up a bit. Really see smoking on startup. 4. Also, if the egr/pcv valves are clogged/stuck could cause very light smoke caused by not clearing the top end of oil gases. Compress test is what I would recommend doing first. |
