Need help with switches, LEDs and fuses ...

I wired up two LEDs (330 Ohm resistor on each) to a 25A (at 12VDC) rocker switch and hooked that up to feed off the same source as the parking lights and instrument panel. So, I had to turn on the parking lights or headlights and then flip the switch for the LEDs to light up.

Last night I had it all working. LEDs were on, headlights on, car running and away I went. I noticed that one of the LEDs was not properly aimed. I pulled over to adjust it. I was in the parking lot kneeling next to the passenger side door. Then the lights went out. Now I have no LEDs, no parking lights, no tail lights and no gauges. Headlights still work, but without tail lights, I can't safely drive anywhere at night.

Anyone care to take a guess at what I did?

Did that, found nothing.

Took it to Sound Performance in Bloomingdale (across the street from work). They found some fuse that I never knew was there and replaced it. Also fixed my ghetto wiring job on my indiglo gauges.

All for free.

I officially love the guys at Sound Performance. (Oh yeah, I also admit that I'm completely re-t-arded when it comes to electrics and electronics.)

sometimes you'll blow a random fuse that has nothing to do with what isn't working but cause that fuse blew it just screws things up... I recently blew my cooling fan fuse and both that and my radio stopped working... go figure.

Well guys, thanks for the help. I got everything straightened out and finished the install last night. It's not quite as dazzling as I had hoped, but it's still pretty good. And most importantly, I did it myself. (Even if I had to learn the hard way.)

Hey Casper, nice teg ...looks good.
