choice of bulbs
i can't really afford HID, so i was wondering what kind of bulbs should i put in my headlights. any suggestions?
what's the deal with sylvania silverstars? any good or no good?

Well, do you just not have enough money for HID or youre just plain broke?
If you have some money, I would get some Hiper Industry hyperwhites if you want a blue tinted light. If you wanna get close to the HID look as possible, then get some PIAA spark blues, but they're gonna run you $100+. If you just need cheap and now, maybe Nokya. Actually, no, they go out too quick. I dunno. before I bought projectors, I had Hipers in for a lil more than a year. I liked em. Visibility wasn't that great though. If you want a better color, go with the high output 6-7500K bulbs. If you want better visibility, go with a 4-5000K bulb. If you want details on why this parody is true (higher output=less visibility) send xplode a PM. He explained it to me.

PIAA bulbs are the best I've ever owned, and I've gone through shitty Pep Boys ones, CATZ pairs, and some other ones which sucked. My PIAA's cost $80 and have a 1 year warranty. I had one burn out after about 8 months, returned both (good and bad one) in the original package with receipt, and got a good pair back at the store for free. Buy them and a CATZ Zeta kit (like an amp or something for headlights) and they'll be wicked bright, with a great blue/white color.

That ZETA kit is expensive tho. If I remember correctly, they're like $200 give or take a few bucks. Add $80 for PIAA's and for a lil, more you can get HID. Just my .02

Wise choice, but if you were gonna save up for the ZETA kit, you should just go for the gusto and save a lil more for the HID kit. I saw a Civic hatch around here with HID, it looked pretty damn good. I'm definitely switchin these H1s out for HID in a few months.

How so? I know nothing's perfect, but since HID has been out, all I've ever heard was "shines xx% brighter than halogen", uses xx% less energy", "conducts xx% less heat"
Only downside I ever heard was costs $xxxxxxxxx!!!  BTW, I was about to get new H1 bulbs in the meantime between now and getting my HID's so I looked to see how to take the bulb out. That shit is ridiculous! That screw holding the frame on is hard to get to with any normal screwdriver. I lost my little one and had to buy a new one. Then it was tight as HELL! I still don't have it off. And on my passenger side, the air filter box is in the was of everything! These lights look good from the outside, but are a major pain inthe ass to change from inside!

i have the 9005 silverstar conversion. lights up the road very well
 pure white light also cause blue/purple/green is ricey i paid $30 for the pair on ebay
