99 Camry Intermittant Stalling
My 99 Camry LE runs fine most of the time but every few days it seems to have a problem with low RPMs and stalls when in gear. If I wait about 15 minutes and restart it, it runs fine. It seems like it is not getting enough gas or the right mixture. Could it be a sensor? Vacuum sensor or fuel pump sensor? Has anyone else had a problem like this? The car has 83.5K miles and is a 4 cylinder. Thanks...

Camry Stalling
I have a similiar problem with my camry also, except it starts right up after stalling. I have 80,000 miles on my 4 cyl. It seems to usually occur on hot days when stopping. Runs fine on cooler days. Running with AC on or keeping RPMs up seem to help. Have you been able to solve your problem?

No, I was not able to solve the problem. I had it in the shop several times. I needed a car that is dependable so I traded it in on a 2003 Camry.

same thing
i'm having the same problem. the only differnce is, in my situation, the frequency of the problem increases after rain and in high humidity. keeping the rpm's up helps but hasn't fixed the problem. have either of you figured out what is causing this problem

Re: 99 Camry Intermittant Stalling
Check for a bad distributor. You may also want to do a quick tuneup.. new spark plugs, cap, fuel filter,... pretty sure the distributor fixed my stalling problem and then I had a starting problem and new plugs and new fuel filter resolved that problem as well! 160k mi's and still taking a licking.

well, i've solved my problem for the time being. my cousin is a mechanical engineer and took a look at my car. he found that the, for a lack of technical jargon, engine exhaust recirculator (on top of the engine with efi written in red on it) was incredibly dirty. we simply removed a hose and sprayed some cleaner in it, used a brush to scrub out the gunk and started it up to push the rest of the debris out. it hasn't had any problems since even after rain and humidity which seemed to be a major variable in the problem. oh ya, and its really cheap to do so try it before droping some coin.
