AEM V2 CAI vs. Regular CAI

Has anybody tried the AEM V2 Cold Air Intake? I was wondering if anyone had actually tried it and gotten better results than the regular AEM Cold Air Intake. This review claims that it has a higher Horsepower and Torque output, but I wanted to see if it was a noticable difference.
These are the two options I am debating about getting: 1) AEM Cold Air Intake with Bypass Valve or 2) AEM V2 Cold Air Intake. I imagine I would need a Bypass valve for the V2 if I decided to go that route, what do you think?

Sounds like marketing BS to me, but who knows? I suppose it could work, but I can't figure out why it would.

yeah i'm thinking the same thing , i mean come on why would you even want to spend almost 300 for a cold air intake when that would do so much more on other parts like hell, a new intake manifold or hell who knows but i can think of alot more that 300 will buy that i need more than a c.a.i with a name on it, but then again i have a c.a.i already so 300 would go for something worth buying. and go to ebay when you decide to buy cause i got my c.a.i there and i got iit for 10.50 plus shipping ( but i got really lucky and noone bid on it either ) but it can happen..... just my opinion...

Sure it works in a controlled environment on the DYNO... but in real life? Just get a $35 eBay special

exactly my point..... all you are paying for is the damn name... i mean think about it they are the same material ( in most cases ) and the only difference i have seen is that with a a.e.m you get a true k&n filter and with the cheap ones you dont, so i think really you are paying about 85% for the filter and the other 15% is for the pipes...like i said i got mine off ebay for 22.50 shipping and all, and we got the one for our 99 ex for about 45.00 shipping and all but that is because a couple people ended up bidding on it but when we got it in, it didnt look no different than the true a.e.m ones except there was no name on it....

I like how companies say crap like their intake is "The Best You Can Buy!"

A CAI is basically a pipe with a filter on the end, OOOOOOOO what a great feat of engineering! Gimme a length of pipe and a filter and I'll make a CAI.

Thanks guys, especially for not making fun of me for being new and asking another CAI question, b/c there are tons on here already. I did some searching on eBay...instead of writing a paper that is due tomorrow...and found a 2 piece CAI for realitively cheap that way I can still put my Bypass Valve on it Basically for insurance that I won't suck up water, since I don't live in the desert. Then I'll just slap a K&N filter on the end and call it good. Thanks again.
