Warning light question!!??

My abs and asc light came on in my e36 m3 today. I checked the owners manual and it said that it meant that i had a malfunction with my abs and it reverted to standard braking. but when i turned the car off and turned it back on later that day to take it to the dealership (classic bmw of dallas texas) the lights were off. Does that mean the malfunction was only temporary as in a glitch in braking software? or is there a mechanical problem but it only warns me once?

Many thanks
David.

The problem was apparently temporary. Typically, it will recur. Drive it for a bit and monitor for further warning lights and/or symptoms.
