Well this will never go anywhere
I have a Grand Prix and love it, but have never had a Nissan so I couldn't tell you what to go with. I prefer the Pontiac since parts are readily available, insurance is decent and in my eye they look more appealing than the a nissan, with the exception of a Z3 of course.

i've driven many a pontiac and many a nissan i dont have a perference. but any nissan above the base sentra is a better proformence vehicle. parts arnt readily avalible for a nissan. pontiac is my fav. american company. nissan is not my fav. japanece company. i'm not a hater of any car company, but i do know who makes a better product.

although nissan is a very nice car, they are built for the type of people who like the movie fast and furious. they are not true performance cars and when driven hard do not stand up. i quess it all comes down to taste, i think its a waste to supe up a honda civic, but some people like it

I beg to differ. Nissans are in fact good cars, and have the potential, if done right, to be great peformance cars. It takes the right know-how and funding, but you can get a pimped up ride out of them nissans. Im sorry, but I dont find the 240sx or the 300zx or the 350z something for ricers, they are great cars. Any car can be shit if someone stupid gets ahold of it. To some people it's not a waste to supe up a civic, there are just a lot of them out there, and people are getting bored with it. I have no problem with suping up, I have a problem with people who do body work to the car only and drive it like it's got thousands in the engine.

DUDE, dont fucking buy a pontiac! what freaking piles of crap they are. i mean seriosuly, you could get a 2k3 maxima or 3.5 altima, with outstanding relability, and performance that will smack the christ out of ANY pontiac. the only pontiac that comes close is a GTP, but they are still slower, do not handle as well, etc. u could have a nissan, with hardly and probloms, and itl last you 200000 miles. or you could get urself a nice pontiac, with an arcaic overhead valve engine, horrible build quality....and ull be lucky if it reaches 100000. a freaking 1995....yes 95....maxima 5 speed is as quick as a new gtp. theres no contest here.

there is actually a new ponitac that will out run a max. and the altima for around the same price as the max. It's 2004 pontiac grand prix comp g. it'll all so out handle the maxima. but like i said before i do not perfer either i like both so ill take up for pontiac and nissans. a true car buff loves all cars not just a company or drive train.

oh and pontiac does make a reliable car. most companys do, it's just the owners' do not know how to take care of a car.

mike, ur really wrong....the comp g is the gtp....its the same thing. it runs 0-60 in 6.6 and the quarter in 15 flat. an 02 max runs 6 flat, and 14.7 in the quarter....and thats motor trend. no, americans do not make reliable cars. are you going to sit there and say that americans make good quality cars? thats insane dude. check out motortrend, car and driver or road and track. they will all take a maxima over a comp g with its gay formula one shifting.

"a true car buff loves all cars not just a company or drive train."

thats the most inaccurate statement ive ever heard. car buffs know a good deal about cars....they know build quality, performance, reliability, handling, etc. a only a true moron love all cars. us americans are so far behind the japanese that its pathetic. for example....pontiac need to SUPERCHARGE, its 3.8 liter overhead valve crap motor to get 260 horsepower/280 lb ft. on the gomp g, whereas nissan gets 287 hp/274 lb ft on a normally aspirated 3.5 (the z). the only decent non-musclecar engine out of an american company is the inline 6 from gm. now thats a motor. get real. pontiacs are for suckers. (my 95 will smack the christ out of ur 2002 grand prix se...and ill do it while on my leather upolstry, listening to my BOSE sound system, on my 150000 mile.)
