Question Question about 88-91 CRX

ok, there's a CRX in an impound lot, im not sure wut year it is but i know its 88-91 and im gonna talk to a guy to see how much he'd sell it to me for, but the thing is is that its an automatic and i want it standard. i know its usually the other way around but standard is more fun. now i was wondering if anyone knows how much it would cost to change it from automatic to standard transmission. i live up in canada so, let me know if the price range is US or CAN.

if you can find a MAN tranny you can just swap it right in, try some local junk yards....prices range from anywhere from 50-350$ US...depends on where you go, and what shape it's in....

It'll cost too much to convert it from auto to manual. your best bet is to buy the car with a 5 speed in it.

copy and paste.... i think ive posted this 4 or 5 times now.

i had it done on my car and it was totally worth it. i didn't do it myself so i paid out the ass, it cost $3000 for a dx auto to zc standard, now that also included many replacement parts and stuff but to do the conversion you need the following (what i paid without shopping around)

shift linkage $90
pedals $50
clutch cable $10
throttle cable $10
cv shafts $120
tranny mount $50
zc engine $900
si tranny $350
dist $0
pm6 ecy $200

engine install labour $500
dpfi to mpfi labour $200
auto to manual labour $200

then i paid for timing belt, water pump, plugs, filters, fluids

so it worked out to something just over $3g's installed

btw thats all canadian dollars so about $2000us funds.
