I have 1 1/2 !970 Machines. I sold my 1970 AMX to my brother who is restoring it as we speak. Why would you ruin a fine automobile and put a stupid Chevy engine in it?

I don't have one yet but I'm lookin' at my Dad's Big Bad Orange 69 AMX.

He is restoring his high school car, a 70 Donahue Javelin 390/T-10
and he has a couple of ramblers and he races a 71 Javelin on a 1/2 mile dirt oval.

Awesome stuff! That BBO is worth some money and fast! 70 Donahue is bad ass too. Sounds like he had the AMCbug!

Yeah, he went to a dealership looking at a '69 Z28 and one of the mechanics had ordered in this Donahue, told him to test drive it and he bought it then and there.

I talked him into dragging it out of the shed after it sat for 17 years (ouch) and cleaning it up, we got it to run that day, and now he has bought several AMC's on the Internet and is restoring them.

Re: Welcome AMC muscle car fans!

I've got a 78 Concord with a 360 motor out of a 73? Javelin.
Paired up with a Chrysler Torqueflite 727 and a Chrysler 8 3/4" positraction 3.90 rear axle.
Nothing exceptional but more than enough to beat your little brothers integra at the stop light.

currently at my house...

1972 AMX Javelin almost sure its completely original, excellent condition
1968 Rambler, restored from a auto to 5? speed(i think) 401, kicks some ass
Another '68 Rambler my dad got for free from a garage that picked it up off the side of the road.
2 Spirits, not really sure of the year on those...dont run, pretty bad shape
and....my first car, and thinking of making it my current every day car...1970 Hornet!! I love that car to death. also another shell of a '70 Hornet that we ripped the engine out of and use everything else for parts

Little update now that I have been home, I was wrong, it's a '72 Javelin AMX not a '69, and the Dirt track car is a '72.

The AMX wasn't originally BBO, it was oversprayed. The doors gave it away, it's originally Trans Am Red.
