good cat back exhaust?

Does anyone know a good catback exhaust that isnt very loud? this may be a dumb question but i dont want it to be very loud while cruising down the highway and not racing. also i'm 18 and i still live with my dad. things would be a lot easier on me if he didnt hear my exhaust as much everytime i come and go so thats another reason i want to keep it a little quieter. i still want performance though and its my car so i can do whatever i want to it. Thanks

The Greddy EVO is a good choice, it sounds good and is within the legal decible limit (which means it isnt loud). It is also a good choice for performance, it doesnt look bad either. I have it on my 2000 SI, i like it a lot.

All the HKS mufflers i have heard have been quite loud. Then again, you can always keep the silencer in wile you are driving around. Removable Silencer's come with about all those brands of mufflers.

I've got the Greddy Evo on my '97 civic and it's not as loud as some I've heard (can't name names) but you might want to consider an exhaust that comes with a silencer. I believe the Medallion(r) (Tanabe i think) also comes with a silencer. You'll just have to do some research.

to look for the quietest exhaust, look for the biggest muffler. Even thought the ranabe racing medalian comes with the silencer, it's still OBSCENELY loud, because the muffler is so small

Just put Apexi WS on my '97 Civic EX. Nice sound for street. Not too loud, nice low sounding tone.

Do you know what a Racing medallion looks like? I have one and compared to my girl's 5Zigen, friends EVO, other friends Apexi N1, and other friends Skunk2 Megapower, my mufflers the biggest therefore hindering the sound. All the exhaust listed in this thread, other than the Apexi WS, are loud as shit. Get what ever muffler you want and have a muffler place weld in some resonators. That's the only way.

The racing medalion is a tiny muffler, and I had a 5zigen fireball on my Civic, and it was pretty damn loud. maybe you are talking about the hypermadalion, which was a bigger cannistor muffler.

If I knew a few years ago what I know now I would have bought the Greddy evo. It sounds puuurrrrfect. Not too quiet, not too loud, and absolutely no raspy sounds at all. btw the exhaust should fit on any D-series engine the exact same, so you can buy one for an EX and it won't matter a bit unless there's some sort of weird HX catalytic converter I've heard about?

If I was you, I would think about getting the Apexi WS Cat-Back. But my reason is because Im looking for more low-end to mid-range power and something that doesn't sound too loud. If your looking to cough up a little more dough, you should think about going with the Greddy Evo.
