H22 in Civic

I know a million people ask about engine swaps, but I haven't really seen anything on here about this one...

My friend has about $15,000 to work with and I suggested the possibility of buying a 96 or so Civic and using the left over money to throw an H22 in it. Is this a worthwhile idea? Also, would he need to buy an EX for things to match up a little better?

HE CAN BUY ANY CIVIC, ABOUT THE ENGINE THE H22 WOULD BE KINDA EXPENSIVE BUT IT CAN WORK IF YOUR LOOKING FOR H22 PERFROMANCE PARTS http://www.modacar.com/car/Honda/Prelude/ THEY'VE GOT SOME PARTS. BUT I WOULD GO WITH A B16A2 ( 99-00 CIVIC SI ENGINE ) BECAUSE I HAVE SEEN MORE PARTS FOR IT BUT THE H22 HAS AN ADVANTAGE CAUSE OF THE 2.2 LITER VS THE 1.6 LITERS BOOSTED TO 1.8 WITH A STROKER KIT.

Unless you are making an NA race car, I'd scratch the h22a idea. If you do a search, I am sure you will find out why. Any you say he's hot 15gs to play with, what route do you want to go, NA, TC, SC, N2O? A perfect platform to start with would be a b18c or a b16a (second gen with obd1 conv). B18b would be a good motor to consider for FI.

He wants a daily driver that'll be basically like a poor mans Ferrari. Good reliability and all that stuff.

b18c and b16a2 are both good for NA daily drivers. Not tons of power, but definatly reliable. More so than a FI motor. Hell he could always throw a small shot on it. But in my opinion, the h22a would be a bad choice as a daily.
