My 1st 5.0 experience vs H22 civic

This is a story to tell you guys about my first ever Mustang 5.0 experience I ever had. I'm a true honda freak, but I have to admit I liked this 5.0 that belonged to my friend. We were out racing one night and this h22 civic called my friend out to race. My friend said he would let me drive it to get the ford experience. At first I didn't want to drive it because it was a ford mostly but I agreed. I started it up and damn. I rev'd the engine only to about 4000rpm and car's body was tweaking. The car was just shaking from front to back every time I rev'd it. I liked that a lot. I posted up next to the civic hatch whose a cocky little guy with an h22. I thought that good launching rpm's would be maybe about 1500 since it had a lot of power (plus I don't know either whether its good or not b/c I've never driven one). The flagger waved his hands down and we were off at the same time and all I have to say is that the h22 was breathing nothing but exhaust fumes all the way til the end. I couldn't believe what just happened. I liked the 5.0. My friends 5.0 has upgrades on it too and he says it ran a 14.27 at the track. the guy in the h22 afterwards says he runs usually a 14.3-4. But it didn't seem like it when I raced him. Thats all I wanted to say in this thread. Just to tell everyone that I (a honda freak) drove a mustang and enjoyed every bit of it. And I'm not at all proud of beating the civic, it just happened like that cuz when I race, losing is not something I like to do. But it happens to everyone.

All I have to say is at least you are open minded. I can respect that far more, weather you won or lost. It's not about what you drive, but how you drive.

I drove an older 475hp mercury capri (mustang - lookalike) with a 175 shot of nitrous and had a flippin blast. The car had t-tops, huge rear tires, and a bunch of shit done to the engine. I know about the shaking and shit you were talking about. And yeah, it was so damn fun to drive. Ran 12's in the 1/4...

The rivalry between I-4 and V-8 seems inevitable. On the one hand you have high revving, light weight machines and on the other hand you have high torque, heavy weight machines. It's cool when drivers are able to appreciate the qualities of both.

No, but it's incredibly believable, isn't it?

However, someday I hope to turbocharge a lawnmower for fun. In reality, Garrett does manufacture the tiny G12 turbocharger. It's designed for .4L to 1.2L engines.

Nice kill on the Honda. I am glad you enjoyed it. I think everybody should be as opened minded as this guy.
