1995 z28 transmission problem

Does anyone have any suggestions on what might be wrong with my transmission. It goes through 1st & 2nd no problem but then just revs up and wont shift.

if it is them 200 r automactis are real crapy trannys
it need s rebuild

I believe they use an electronic version of the 700R4 tranny... known as the 4L60E.

Yes his tranny is a 4L60E. These trannies really suck if you plan on any kind of high HP. I already blew my stock one up at 65K. If you have the $$ do a swap over to the T-56 6 speed. It will be well worth every penny. I would have but didn't have the dough. I got lucky and picked up a 4L60E with 23K and a trans go stage 2 shift kit for 350$ on camaroz28.com
If you were to take it to someone to rebuild it. I would say around 1g +

i had the same problem i thought i needed a new one but i didnt , i just went out an bought a new set of good spark plugs an it fixed the problem b/c one of them was shot an not working so try that, or just get a tune up . im pretty sure thats all it is b/c i had that same problem an it would go 1'st and 2'nd but never hit third, an its b/c it didnt have enough spark, try that though an if that dont work it prolly is ur transmission, but reply an tell me if it worked
